FLSA Regulations and Potential Changes

The U.S. Department of Labor's proposed white-collar exemption standards for Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 executive, administrative and professional exemption tests signal a dramatic change to existing guidelines, including a significant increase in the salary threshold. This session will brief you on the specific job classifications most directly impacted; identify alternative exemptions and compliance strategies; and outline compliance action plans upon publication of the final regulations. Learn what actions you should take now to best position your organization to implement required changes later.

Aligning Rewards with the Business - How Do You Do That?

Every compensation consultant promotes “aligning compensation programs with the business.” Too often this means: 1) A boilerplate program with the name of the consultant's last client “searched and replaced” with your company name.  2) An invasion of inexperienced MBAs who hold hundreds of hours of meetings and review thousands of pages of information to support a recommended program that has never been implemented in the Real World or asking YOU how to “align compensation programs with your business,” then packaging the ideas on the consultant’s letterhead.  In this session Dave and Lindsay will share clear, specific concepts and examples for creating total reward designs to the way a business invests human capital to generate profits.
