Chatham County Human Resources has an excellent opportunity for a Compensation and Position Control Specialist.  If you possess an Associate Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field and have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in human resources administration or operations, consider applying.

Job Summary:  In this role, you will process and maintain personnel transactions to meet payroll deadlines. You will maintain the electronic database, ensuring data accuracy and integrity of all personnel, position control, budgetary system, and job salary records. You will correct discrepancies as needed or as directed, ensure position control information is accurate and allocated correctly, and maintain documentation of open position and budgetary changes to ensure proper disbursement of the allocated budget. You will receive and finalize documentation related to employee hiring, transfer, and termination, including oversight of the I-9 process. You will input employee data into the electronic employee master, ensure completeness of paper files, maintain records of items needed to complete files, and pursue as necessary. You will collect, summarize, and analyze salary data from other jurisdictions and published salary surveys to determine the competitiveness of the County’s compensation program. You will track metrics and prepare reports on workforce demographics and human resources activities. As you will interact with department managers and employees, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Other duties may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:  Associate Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field, and three years of experience in human resources administration or operations; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.  Experience with Tyler Munis software is highly desirable.

Note:  During emergencies and disasters affecting Chatham County, you may be required to report to work as part of a disaster operations team.
