The Compensation Analyst is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of company compensation programs to provide competitive, market-based compensation for hourly and salaried employees.


  • Works with senior management to ensure compensation strategy and programs support the company’s business objectives.
  • Works with management to gather and document job and organizational information including responsibilities and skills required for each position. Determines type, scope and purposes of role. Defines salary or hourly pay levels. Creates job descriptions and job codes for the HR/Payroll information system.
  • Identifies compensation related gaps and trends and makes recommendations for process improvement and efficiency. Plans and coordinates compensation projects, strategies and initiatives.
  • Participates in market equity studies and collects, evaluates, and analyzes salary data.
  • Reviews salary details to ensure internal pay equity among current and new employees.
  • Ensures compensation programs meet legal requirements and administers mandatory reporting.
  • Gathers information for annual wage increases, calculates the cost of the increases, and assists in the creation of hourly and salary proposals to be reviewed by senior leadership.
  • Supports the annual wage increase process for hourly and salary employees, in partnership with the Compensation Manager and Payroll department.
  • Retrieves data through the HR/Payroll information system and provides information to senior management, and staff employees throughout the company.
  • Participates in special projects which involve teaming with other departments and operating systems, impacting the company’s HR and financial functions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in Compensation and/or Total Rewards
  • Experience with HRIS systems (Workday a plus) and market pricing tools
  • Experience with data modeling, analysis, and reporting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Skilled at building effective relationships to partner with others within the organization
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with MS Office, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Must be able to work independently with little direct supervision
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
