The Director Compensation and Benefits is responsible for providing strategic direction oversight, design, and management of the company’s compensation and benefits strategy and analysis of internal and external market trends that align with the business strategy to drive results.  The Director of Compensation and Benefits is also responsible for assessing and implementing benefits and compensation systems designed to ensure innovative compensation and benefits technology solutions.



  1. Designs compensation & benefit plans that are aligned with the company’s business objectives and talent strategy, while ensuring the achievement of consistent and market-driven levels of compensation and benefits.

  2. Oversees all functions associated with the administration of employee benefit programs to include, but not limited to: 401(k) savings plan, health insurance, dental, disability, basic and voluntary life insurance, employee assistance program (EAP), workers compensation and wellness programs.

  3. Provides strategic direction in the development of competitive base and variable pay structures; job classification methodology; merit and incentive programs.

  4. Oversees implementation of HRIS systems related to compensation and benefits including review, testing, and system upgrades.

  5. Leads a team of compensation and benefits professionals providing training, coaching, and guidance; encourages and supports individual talent development.

  6. Oversees benefits and compensation plans to meet regulatory compliance and governance/audit requirements, consults with legal resources and stays abreast of developing legislation and its potential impact.

  7. Designs and conducts analysis of jobs, salaries, variable pay and other rewards in order to evaluate internal equity, external competitiveness, and legal compliance of pay practices.

  8. Oversees the annual salary increase/merit program and promotion and designs, manages and models incentive programs that link pay to performance.

  9. Provides research and analysis of benefit programs and vendor effectiveness to assess cost savings, process improvements and legal requirements to remain competitive and in compliance with health and welfare programs.

  10. Responsible for audits and regulatory filings for benefit plans and managing/supporting vendor relationships of benefit programs.

  11. Develops and designs effective compensation/benefits related communications to managers and employees.

  • Develops specifications for new benefit plans or modifies existing plans to maintain company's competitive position in labor market and recommendations to management concerning sharing of cost between employer and employee.

  • Reviews benefit billings/expenses on a monthly basis and prepares and reviews the benefits and department operational budgets; expenditures and analyzes variances.


Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.  Eight (8) to Ten (10) years of Benefits and Compensation experience required.  Strong leadership and prior HRIS experience are required. 

  1. Ability to formulate and execute comprehensive compensation and benefits strategies/programs that will ensure consistency throughout the Company.

·         Strong technical skills and ability to understand HRIS Systems as they relate to benefits and compensation.

·         Outstanding facilitator and communicator; lead innovation by teaching, consensus-building, and project execution.

  • Solid decision-maker with excellent analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and be self-starting on tasks within area of expertise.

  • Strong quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills, attention to detail, and project management skills.

  • Ability to influence, deliver results and collaborate across functions and teams.
