Job Summary:

This senior level Classification and Compensation Specialist will be responsible for administering competitive, cost-effective, and legally compliant compensation programs and best practices.

Essential Functions:

1. Consulting with the campus community, including conducting annual compensation reviews of job levels, benchmarking, updating job descriptions in conjunction with management, performing data analyses and formulating recommendations, to ensure competitive, cost-effective, and legally compliant compensations programs and practices.

2. Participating in third party compensation surveys and providing continuous research on peer institutions and similar external markets.

3. Documenting methodology, assumptions and decisions on compensation issues to ensure consistency of decisions and coordination with other compensation and human resources colleagues.

4. Assisting with cost and statistical analyses as needed for a variety of pay practice studies.

5. Identifying opportunities for process improvements and introduction of best practices.

6. Conducting market and best practice research to support compensation decisions and make program recommendations to ensure competitive pay, retention and motivation.

7. Supporting the integrity of all compensation data and compensation systems, including job code tables, grade range tables and EEO codes.

8. Participating in automation of current processes and other improvements to compensation program administration.

9. Preparing a variety of predictive analytics at the direction of management requiring manipulation of large amounts of data to monitor the integrity and analyze the effectiveness and competitiveness of our compensation programs.

10. Providing advice to management on compensation matters, policies, practices and/or procedures.

11. Documenting new procedures and business process flows related to compensation plans.

Minimum Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Statistics, Human Resources, Management, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field; a minimum of 4 years of directly and progressively related experience applying compensation theories and practices in collaborative working environments.

Strong analytical and statistical skills; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work both independently and collaboratively; ability to handle multiple activities; strong writing and presentation skills; negotiation skills and the ability to influence others without formal authority are all essential.

Must have demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel -- Pivot Tables, Vlookup, Workbooks and Statistical Charts, and a demonstrated working knowledge of FLSA and EEOC regulations.

Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
